Mobile Market is Hotting Up

Demand for bespoke mobile applications has soared in the past year. The Question is, what platform is the best?

THE iPhone continues to be the most popular smartphone, but sales of Android-based devices are quickly catching up, with the HTC Inspire being the best selling. There is a question, however, whether Google’s mobile operating system can maintain its recent popularity in light of other major mobile platforms that exist in today’s market – especially with the launch of Apple’s iOS 5, which includes many similarities to the Android
.
There is no denying that Android’s popularity has soared since its first appearance a few years ago, and the truth is mobile manufacturers are still more confident in this operating system (OS) than they are in others. We’re seeing new Android devices – packing some of the hottest features in hardware we’ve ever seen – hit the market faster than ever, and there’s no indication that it’s going to slow down any time soon.

Android released the Honeycomb operating system earlier this year, an OS meant for tablets. The Motorola Xoom was the first tablet to feature Honeycomb. And a recent addition to the market is Acer’s Iconia Tab A500 which, as far as Android tablets go, is one of the best on the market right now thanks to its dual-core processor and Honeycomb OS.

Apple is still strong, but Android’s ever-growing popularity is something that cannot be ignored. The little green ‘droid is still very important for the mobile market due to its openness. Google has always projected it as a flexible alternative to Apple’s iOS.
